Pharma Pro&Pack Expo kick-started the series of pre-event networking roadshows on a high note with Goa as its first location. The Goa roadshow supported by Goa Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (GPMA) held on May 27, 2002, at Hotel Vivanta by Taj was graced by four industry Experts as panelists. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Praveen Khullar, President, GPMA. The roadshow got a very encouraging response from 130+ delegates representing pharma industry of Goa.
The panelists at the Roadshow included Pareen Dashottar, Vice President & Site Head (Formulation Operations) – Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.; Gurudatta Bhat, Head-Engineering – Lupin Limited; Sandeep Prabhu, Associate Director-Engineering – Sanofi India Ltd. and Murali Bhaskar Rao, Head (Engineering & Projects) – Marksans Pharma Ltd.
Speaking on the theme of ‘Technology & Automation – Futuristic Scenarios’, the experts highlighted the role of advanced machinery for processing and packaging that will eventually help the Indian pharma industry achieve its $130 billion potential by 2030. Moderated by Kaushik Desai, Advisor – Indian Pharma Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPMMA), the panel discussion emphasized the role of automation in boosting productivity and output of pharma manufacturers. Panellists also brought forth the increasing adoption of smart technologies like AI/IoT/ML in boosting production timelines, reducing waste, uninterrupted supply chain and improving profitability on a long run.
